The Bee has become with this collection one of the iconic symbols of the Maison
For 230 years, Chaumet has been the jeweller of sentiment by giving birth to inspirational pieces, marrying richness of gold with sparkling of precious stones.
Chaumet precious watches convey this unique patrimony. Born with & associated to core jewellery collections, they are worked with the same strong codes & emotions that enrich their stories and make them becoming outstanding poetic timepieces.Driven by a joyful bestiary of bees and spiders, the Attrape-moi…si tu m'aimes collection is since 2008 an ode to poetry, seduction & bucolic romance. Inspired by naturalism, the gold-made watches become a stand for the jeweler's expression: materials, crafts, aesthetics are all unique ways to express creativity.

To magnify the beauty of the pieces, treasures of ingenuity and technical feats were performed. The making of the products is complex and the choice of stones peculiar. Chaumet gives life to its watches by playing on the contrasts, colors and transparencies.

In 2012, Chaumet goes even further in creativity by developing a new stone-cutting: first cut in cabochon shape on the top, the stone bottom is cut in honeycomb shape and then yellow gold metalized to bring out their brightness.

This original precious watches collection finds its echo with the Attrape-moi…si tu m'aimes jewellery sentimental hide-and-seek.

The Bee

Emblem of Napoleon the 1st and often interpreted by Chaumet, his official jeweller, the Bee has become with Attrape-moi…si tu m'aimes collection (Catch me…if you love me) one of the iconic symbols of the Maison.
As a representation of the imperial authority, the bee is also a symbol of eloquence, intelligence and immortality. It is also completely dedicated to its beehive and is the origin of the sweetest nectar, honey.

Crafts – Métiers d'Art

  • Enameling: gems pieces, like the Rainbow Enamel watches (collection of 36 unique pieces), are made with Grand Feu enamel. This technique dated from Ancient Egypt, is nowadays mastered by few talented craftsmen. It consists in delicately arranging enamel on an engraved dial, which is thus heated up. This last step will give a unique color to the enamel: each piece is thus unique.
  • Engraving: for example, the honeycomb motif visible on the case-sides or on the dial of some pieces
  • Setting: new stone-cutting & setting to create an exclusive dial which engraved honeycomb pattern is fully paved with orange sapphire cabochons specifically cut in honeycomb & yellow gold metalized to bring out their brightness

Precious

As an endless inspiration, the Bee is magnified by the most precious and fine materials enhanced by the savoir-faire of the Maison. Bees are flying above an ocean of mother-of-pearl, be it natural black Polynesian or natural white, sublimated with delicate settings that indicate each quarter of an hour. Grand Feu enamel is also part of this bucolic landscape where bees can also be set with cabochon stones like red or pink rubies, orange sapphires, citrines and opals.

Spider webs appear on a parterre of black & white diamonds or red rubies, giving birth to astonishing full paved dials, where spiders and bees seem to play a hide and seek game.
