Buckle up for an intense week of watch news on WorldTempus as we bring you up to speed with some major new launches.

I will be heading for Geneva’s Palexpo exhibition centre tomorrow and Wednesday for the second time in less than two months as the Geneva International Motor Show opens its doors to the press. It will be the stage for a number of announcements by watch brands, including a new partnership for Roger Dubuis, a new watch from Zenith and another new announcement from TAG Heuer that will be typically original and will continue its drive to appeal to millennials. There will also be a new partnership between the biggest watch brand in motorsport (it’s not who you might think) and a hypercar manufacturer. Find out more from tomorrow on our homepage.

An automotive-themed week is also a chance for me to give the usual overview of the watch brands involved in Formula 1 this season. We saw major changes last year, but things stay the same for 2017, with this year’s big changes being to the cars themselves. Camille Gendre and Michèle Brunner will also take the opportunity to consider which watches (for men and for women) might fit best with the new cars presented in Geneva.

Right in the middle of this car fest we will also see what could be one of the most significant developments in mechanical watch movements this year. And I’m being quite conservative when I say that. Our most passionate readers may have already seen that there is a very exciting new chronograph movement around. But so far, only the movement has been seen. From midday on Wednesday you can see the first watch that will use this new movement. If you read Aurel Bacs’s article today on pricing in the future value of watches, this is one I would recommend you snap up quickly if you have the budget!
