Carl F. Bucherer and Gault Millau select the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne as Hotel of the year 2019

In Lucerne on August 27th, Carl F. Bucherer shares its home city with a stunning hotel – the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne. Carl F. Bucherer and GaultMillau named this breathtaking resort Hotel of the Year 2019. The award ceremony was held at the resort, which is located on a spectacular mountain ridge with wonderful views out over Lake Lucerne. This is the twelfth time that the watch brand and the gourmet guide, who share a long-standing partnership, have presented the Hotel of the Year award.

Culinary Delights and a Feast for the Eyes

The Spices Kitchen & Terrace, which serves up authentic Asian cuisine in the heart of Switzerland, is one of four restaurants at the Bürgenstock Resort that will be featured in the GaultMillau Guide 2019. Constructed as an impressive glass cube, the resort’s award-winning restaurant serves Far Eastern delicacies from its open show kitchen, and guests can take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. In honor of this award, Carl F. Bucherer took inspiration from the culinary variety on offer at the resort and presented popular creations from the Spices Kitchen & Terrace together with selected timepieces in a series of photographs. Various models from the Swiss watch brand were joined by a range of different courses, including Indian, Thai, Japanese, and Chinese dishes, in these artistic compositions.

A Luxury Resort with a Fascinating History

The Swiss watch manufacturer and the Bürgenstock Resort also share a long and illustrious history. The Grand Hotel, as it was known following its original completion in 1873, seemed to have an almost magical power to attract such renowned names as Charlie Chaplin, Kofi Annan, Sophia Loren, and Audrey Hepburn.

It is this shared philosophy, as well as the fact that we both have a long history and are ‘Made of Lucerne,’ that creates such a strong connection between our brand and this renowned hotel.” With GaultMillau Switzerland Editor in Chief Urs Heller also in attendance, Sascha Moeri honored the outstanding performance by presenting a watch each to Bruno H.
