Glashütte Original The 67th Berlinale is up and running
On 9 February, hundreds of guests celebrated the glamorous kick-off at the Berlinale Palast.
For ten days Berlin is the world capital of cinema – with Glashütte Original not just a partner of the Festival but the welcoming host to filmmakers and artists from around the world as well.
Thursday evening the kick-off of the 67th Berlinale was celebrated with a battery of camera flashes lighting up the stars on the red carpet, an entertaining opening ceremony and the world premiere of the French documentary "Django".
For the first time ever, host Anke Engelke introduced Glashütte Original as one of four absolutely essential Principal Partners. In the seventh year of its partnership, the German watchmaker has expanded its support for the Berlin International Film Festival considerably, in part with its creation of a new award. The Glashütte Original Documentary Award is worth 50,000 Euros and will be presented to one of the sixteen nominees at the official Awards Ceremony on February 18, 2017.
