This week some of the world’s best watch retailers offer their advice on buying a watch as a Christmas gift. We also bring you the first previews of the 2015 models that will be presented at the SIHH next January.

After the SIAR, SalonQP and Belles Montres, one of the world’s biggest regional watch fairs will open its doors on 6th December. The Masters of Time exhibition in Macau, organised by DFS Group, one of the world’s biggest watch retailers, attracts customers from around the world to view some 400 timepieces from 40 of the world’s major watch brands. WorldTempus interviewed Christophe Chaix, Senior Vice-President of the DFS Group, about the show and the current buying trends in the industry.

« Avez-vous vu les avant-premières du SIHH 2015 ? »

As part of our Christmas gift guide, we asked the world’s leading watch retailers to offer their advice on buying a watch as a Christmas present. In the first of a two-part series they share their tips on how to pick a model from among the thousands available (WorldTempus has over 10,000 watches in its watchfinder), especially if you are buying it for someone else.

The past few weeks have also seen the first SIHH previews in Geneva, with a number of brands presenting a selection of their 2015 models. We published our first previews last Friday with the new Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Ceramica (PAM580 for the Paneristi) and Cartier’s new skeleton Crash model, whose movement has been sculpted to match the unusual form of the case. We will, of course, bring you more over the coming weeks.
