Newsletter Ladies’ week

To coincide with the publication of GMT Lady this week, we question the leading ladies in the watch industry.

Si vous aviez 20 millions à disposition, achèteriez-vous plutôt une montre ou une marque de montres ?

Paul O'Neil

We build up to the release of GMT Lady this week with interviews with some of the most powerful women in the industry, such as Carole Forestier, Head of the Cartier “Movement Creation” Department (which she developed from scratch) and, in an avant-première, the GMT Lady interview with Nayla Hayek, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Swatch Group.

After Patek Philippe’s “Supercomplication” broke its own record for the most expensive watch ever sold at auction last week and Marc A. Hayek shelled out a cool half a million Swiss francs to secure two significant Breguet pieces for the brand’s collection, Aurel Bacs presented the highlights from the recent auctions.

Our collector/contributor Serge Panczuk was delighted to hear about Panerai joining the WorldTempus stable and immediately penned us an entertaining article on the brand’s ardent “Paneristi” fan base. Serge explains how he first got to know the brand, what it means to be a member of this active community... and invites you to join them.

As Christmas gets ever closer, we continue our gift guide with a selection of watches chosen by the CEOs of a handful of brands. The choices are necessarily biased, of course, but sometimes the reasons behind them can be revealing.

Towards the end of the week, the combined editorial might of GMT and WorldTempus sets off on the road to Paris for a look at the Belles Montres exhibition. As usual, we will be Instagramming the all-important wrist shots, updating you via Facebook and Twitter and publishing our review of the show once we are back.
