As the industry turns its attention to design this week, WorldTempus presents more 2015 models and offers a Reuge music box in our last monthly competition of the year.

As the nights draw in and Switzerland’s cities are bathed in the lights of their tasteful and traditional decorations, it’s clear that Christmas is just around the corner. The official build-up started yesterday with Advent Sunday and our Christmas gift guide therefore continues this week with advice on the best places to buy watches and a selection of highly original timepieces to offer as gifts.

Today being December 1st also means that it is your last chance this year to enter the WorldTempus competition. This month you can win a highly original Reuge music box worth 3,900 Swiss francs. If you are looking for one as a gift, you can buy them directly from the factory in the brand’s traditional Christmas sale with gifts to suit all budgets, from 100 to 100,000 Swiss francs.

Design will be the theme at this year’s Watch Marketing Day in La Chaux-de-Fonds on Thursday, where your editor-in-chief will be the master of ceremonies for a series of presentations and panel discussions on the theme of watch design. Whatever the future of watch design may be, it’s refreshing to see that traditional brands like Vacheron Constantin are staunch defenders of the pencil and paper approach.

What will be the main design themes at the SIHH next month? A couple of words spring to mind but you can judge for yourself when you see some more 2015 model launches this week on WorldTempus.
