Goodwood Festival of Speed - TAG Heuer
TAG Heuer marked its fifth year as the official timing partner of the world renowned Goodwood Festival of Speed with its strongest ever presence at the event.

A particular highlight of the Tag Heuer stand was an exhibition of ultra-high performance two and four wheeled vehicles - including the McLaren MP4/4 Formula One car originally driven by the late, legendary TAG Heuer ambassador Ayrton Senna during the 1988 season.

The MP4/4 is the most successful F1 car ever built, but it was raw and basic compared with the state-of-the-art McLaren MP4-26 which was also on display. Its presence on the stand offered visitors a rare chance to get close to a current Formula One car and, together with the MP4/4,  illustrated the 30-year relationship between McLaren and TAG Heuer - the longest partnership between a watch brand and a constructor in the history of the sport.

TAG Heuer’s backing of Nissan GTR Nismo racing was also highlighted by the presence of the remarkable TAG Heuer sponsored GT-R LM Nismo which appeared at Goodwood fresh from competing at the Le Mans 24 hours.

The fourth and final machine on display was a remarkable record-breaking motorcycle powered by a helicopter gas turbine engine. The ‘MadMax’ bike, which belongs to Guernsey-based TAG Heuer collector Zef Eisenberg, was developed and built on the island and is capable of 233.7 mph.

Jenson Button and his wife Jessica Michibata, Damon Hill, Freddie Hunt (son of legendary British F1 Champion James Hunt), Gene Simmons and Daisy Lowe visited across the weekend, taking the opportunity to relax in the TAG Heuer Drivers’ Club hospitality suite between Festival activities. Gene Simmons, lead singer of KISS, also presented the TAG Heuer ‘Fastest Time Of The Festival’ Award to Olly Clark who snatched victory in his Subary Impreza "Gobstopper II". The 780hp Time Attack competitor stomped the 1.16 mile hill in 44.91 seconds.

At the TAG Heuer Pavilion, visitors had the chance to see the 4 all-new Senna TAG Heuer watches and the McLaren limited edition, which were launched exclusively at the Festival. The new Senna pieces comprise four models, which celebrate the on-going role of Ayrton Senna as a the brand ambassador.
