Dubai Watch Week Latifa bint Mohammed visits Dubai Watch Week 2019

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, visited Dubai Watch Week.

Her Highness toured the exhibition and expressed her appreciation for the growth that the global event has seen since its inception. “The global economy is changing more rapidly than ever before. Applying knowledge innovatively is critical to achieving excellence in this environment", Sheikha Latifa said. "Dubai is working to enhance its position as a hub for creative industries, as part of which we have launched many initiatives and hosted several international events and exhibitions in this sector.”

Her Highness said that hosting such events helps the industry explore new opportunities and create productive partnerships. “Dubai offers a platform for the creative industry to flourish", she further said. "We have worked to provide a fertile environment for businesses to grow and prosper in this sector. By hosting events like Dubai Watch Week, we want to bring together industry leaders and entrepreneurs to connect, interact and enrich Dubai’s business community.”

Now in its fourth edition, Dubai Watch Week, is dedicated to uniting and growing the global watch community for the preservation and transmission of horological knowledge. Dubai Watch Week promotes dialogue and fosters creativity as well as contributes to the growth of the creative economy. It features sessions covering a variety of topics as well as forums to boost the use of the latest innovation and technology. Returning for this year’s edition is the renowned Horology Forum, which brings together key experts from diverse industries. Notable speakers include watch curators, pioneers, brands, artists and collectors who will exchange insights and perspectives over a series of panel discussions dedicated to the transfiguration of horology.

Since its first edition, Dubai Culture has remained the cultural partner of Dubai Watch Week. The first-of-its-kind non-commercial event maintains its commitment to showcasing the creativity and ingenuity of the industry through the brand-led Creative Hubs and watchmaking and watch craft masterclasses. Visitors can expect to experience the most interactive and inclusive edition of Dubai Watch Week to date. The event offers opportunities to learn more about the remarkable craft of watchmaking and seeks to inspire a new generation of watch enthusiasts.
