Opening of Time Square space - MCT at Baselworld
1 minute read
Manufacture Contemporaine du Temps and three other independent brands join forces to present their latest watches in a joint exhibition space.

Taking up the momentum from SIHH, and giving true meaning to the values of fellowship and solidarity, MCT (Manufacture Contemporaine du Temps), H. Moser & Cie., Hautlence, MCT and RJ-Romain Jerome are joining forces to create a completely new space in Basel. Baptised Time Square, it is set to be the focal point for innovative and creative watchmaking from March 22nd to 29th, 2017, on the third floor of the Ramada Plaza Basel Hotel.

10 years al dente
According to Pierre Jacques “ It is with great pride that we are celebrating this first decade of Manufacture Contemporaine du Temps! And what a joy to be able to associate its founder, Denis Giguet, who is back at the helm of his production facility and with whom we form a creative and effective tandem. Barely one year after taking up our joint responsibilities, this complementary working relationship has already led to renewed market confidence, new models, and a new caliber presented at Baselworld to mark MCT’s 10th anniversary. Aficionados have already nicknamed our Sequential, Frequential and Dodeka movement trilogy “al dente”! Sincere thanks to our loyal clients for opting to believe in the brand "re-boot". The DNA of MCT, which is strongly geared towards design and the innovative display of time, has won over some of the finest players on the contemporary art scene, such as Anish Kapoor who agreed to lend his talent to an exclusive collaborative endeavor based on original creations involving his extraordinary Vantablack. This surprising material has joined the bronze, titanium and gold that we use in our workshops, proving that innovation and tradition work in perfect harmony within a contemporary Manufacture that excels in the art of surprise. Today, however, consistently inspiring dreams means keeping one’s feet firmly on the ground. The next decade promises even greater creativity, even more calibers ensuring a daring and easily legible reading of time, and an even more serene approach to our mission”.  In its Baselworld issue, GMT magazine has a special 12-page pull-out on the 10th anniversary of MCT.
