Newsletter GPHG 2015 goes to the next level

A week of GPHG 2015-related coverage, from the pre-selected watches to a statistical review of the past 14 years.

After a light-hearted erotic week, things get back down to business as the all-important pre-selection of 72 watches for this year’s Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève – GPHG 2015 for short – will be published tomorrow. As always, we will be examining the shortlisted watches to see who made it through and which watches have a good chance of winning. We also take a look back over 14 years of previous Grand Prix competitions to see what stood out.

“Jean-Claude Biver is a genius of the industry who rightly merits a biography”

Paul O'Neil

Our GPHG predictions poll is back. This allows you, the reader, to vote for your personal favourites in each category. Our poll is completely independent and in no way related to the Public Prize at the GPHG, which you can also vote for. But it does reflect the opinions of some 200,000 monthly readers and can sometimes give a hint at which watches might win a particular category. You may recall the excellent performance of the Grönefeld Parallax Tourbillon in our poll last year. The watch ultimately won the tourbillon prize in the Grand Prix itself.

While this week remains largely devoted to the Grand Prix on WorldTempus, the coming weeks promise to be very busy as our diaries slowly fill up with appointments for events, factory openings and interviews before we start travelling to the major regional watch exhibitions. Don't miss our hot off the press news about the first watchmaking event in 2016 - coming later today to a screen near you!
