Former British Formula 1 driver Max Chilton will be an official partner of the Armin Strom watch company for this year's Verizon IndyCar Series. The partnership is set to increase awareness of the independent Swiss watch brand in the U.S. and Canada.
Chilton's first race is today, March 13, at the Firestone Grand Prix in St. Petersburg, Fla., and the season will take him to Long Beach, Fort Worth, Toronto and 10 other cities before the last race in Sonoma on September 18. Armin Strom's logo will appear on Chilton's helmet and car, as he drives for Chip Ganassi Racing.
“I’ve been a big fan of Armin Strom watches for some time following an ambassador relationship with them while I was in F1," said Chilton. "The detail and craftsmanship that goes into every model is amazing. I’ve been to the factory several times and have a great relationship with the team there; so now to be partnering with them is a real pleasure."
