Longines times its 10th Royal Ascot

2016 marks the 10th Royal Ascot since the beginning of the Longines-Ascot partnership.

The Royal Ascot races is Britain’s most renowned racing event. Bringing in some of the world’s top performing horses, as well as a sophisticated audience seeking a unique sporting experience, this event involves no less than 8 Group 1 races, including the King’s Stand Stakes, which was won by Profitable. The horse’s owner, trainer, jockey and lad were presented with a Longines watch from the hands of Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.

On Tuesday, June 14th, Longines celebrated Caravaggio’s victory in the Coventry Stakes, awarding its owner, trainer, jockey and lad with Longines watches from The Longines Master Collection. Later in the day, Her Royal Highness Princess Anne presented the King’s Stand Stakes winners with models from the same collection.

The evening before, Her Royal Highness was honored during the fourth Longines Ladies Awards ceremony. This award outlined her invaluable contribution to the equestrian world, both as a high-level athlete and at the head of key institutions for the disciplines, such as the Fédération Équestre Internationale.

During this ceremony, Juan-Carlos Capelli, Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing, presented her with an 18 carat rose gold pocket watch, The Longines Equestrian Pocket Watch Horses Trio 1911. This piece has a skillfully crafted back featuring a trio of horses standing out against a background of delicately crafted foliage. This unique model is a very limited edition, and each piece is numbered.
