The Longines Prize for Elegance

The Prize for Elegance was awarded to Russia’s Angelina Melnikova and Russia’s Artur Dalaloyan at the 48th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Doha.

As the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of the 48th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2018 in Doha, Longines presented the Longines Prize for Elegance to Russia’s Angelina Melnikova and Russia’s Artur Dalaloyan. All participants in the individual men and women all-around finals held respectively on Wednesday October 31 and Thursday November 1 were nominated for this elegant contest. The winners impressed the whole jury for the grace, beauty, harmony and above all, the elegance of their performance. They both received Longines timepieces from the hands of Longines President Walter von Känel, as well as a trophy and a cheque.

The Longines Prize for Elegance

In Doha, the jury of the Longines Prize for Elegance comprised Walter von Känel, President of Longines, Morinari Watanabe, President of the International Gymnastics Federation, Svetlana Boginskaya, Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Ambassador for the 2018 Worlds, Patrick Aoun, Brand Manager of Longines Middle East, and Philipp Boy, Member of the Longines Family. The jury’s individual assessments were combined to form a collective judgement reflecting a perceptive and balanced evaluation of the gymnasts’ performances. 

The Official Watch of the 48th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2018 belongs to the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” collection, representing a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining precision, technicality and a sporty look. Displaying a silver dial, this timepiece houses an ultra-precise movement (+- 5 seconds/year), as well as a perpetual calendar.

The Longines Prize for Elegance
