Fabergé - Lady Libertine III

Fabergé Lady Libertine III

Fabergé unveils an artistic addition to the Dalliance collection with a unique work of art inspired by the Mozambique landscape.

Following Lady Libertine I and II, launched in 2016, which demonstrated the verdant power of emeralds and portrayed the landscape of Zambia, where Gemfields Kagem emerald mine is located, Fabergé unveils Lady Libertine III.

The dial of Lady Libertine III was conceived by Scottish designer Fiona Krüger. A pioneering woman in watchmaking, Fiona pushes the boundaries of traditional techniques with her artistic approach to Haute Horlogerie; it was therefore the perfect collaboration for Fabergé, as the brand continues to experiment with the creative possibilities that the exclusive movement and unique architecture of the Dalliance collection offers.

Fiona drew inspiration for Lady Libertine III directly from the rubies themselves. Having lived in South Africa, Fiona found the maverick spirit of Southern Africa an incredibly powerful essence to capture in this creative piece which illustrates the vibrant colour palette of the Mozambican landscape – the blue ocean, white sand and red earth. Fiona approached the creation of the dial like an abstract painting, experimenting with textures, light and shades to create an emotive piece inspired by the bold Mozambican coastline.

The skilful Anita Porchet painted the ocean with turquoise guilloché enamel, decorated with silvery-white bush strokes to illustrate the waves. The dial is also adorned with Gemfields exceptional precious gemstones, from vivid red rubies to dusty pink sapphires, which take centre stage at the heart of this watch.

This gem-set timepiece is housed in a 36mm 18k white gold case with 1.79 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds adorning its bezel. The dial is snow-set with rubies and pink sapphires, finished with turquoise and silver hand-painted guilloché enamel. The hours and minutes are displayed by means of two white gold wave-shaped hands that track around the central dome. The dial is encased by anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal and case back and is secured on a leather strap with an 18k white gold pin buckle.

The AGH 6911 calibre at the heart of the Fabergé Dalliance collection is refined using perlage decoration on the mainplate and Cotes de Genève stripes on its hand-chamfered bridges. The manually-wound movement also boasts a 50-hour power reserve from a single barrel and Agenhor's unique AgenPIT regulation system, which offers a simplified approach to adjust the balance wheel.

The central principle of AgenPIT sees the hairspring clamped in place by a moveable jaw. The jaw is opened by means of a single s crew while the hairspring is then retracted or extended by means of a second, rubberised screw. Once the hairspring has been regulated the jaw can be clamped shut once again.

The brand

Fabergé delights in producing the unexpected for its timepieces, much like the famous Imperial Easter Eggs for which the house is famous.
