Launched over ten years ago, Hublot's Big Bang has become the benchmark of versatility in Swiss watchmaking. Using its unique and highly distinctive design as a starting point, Hublot has taken its Iconic model into uncharted technical and stylistic territory. In line with its motto, "The Art of Fusion", several new materials have been specially developed at the manufacture on the shores of Lake Geneva, to be used on the Big Bang. The case and bezel of the Big Bang Alps feature a new frosted carbon formed from an aggregate of small pieces of rock that give the illusion of granite. This material is widespread throughout the Alps and it is the Matterhorn, the most famous Swiss mountain that was the inspiration for the Big Bang Alps.
The collection features two models: a men's 45 mm diameter version and a women's 39 mm diameter version. Both are equipped with interchangeable "One Click" straps. And for those looking for something extra exclusive and especially for those who feel the chill, Hublot has developed the Cuddly Cuff, an oversized cuff which can be attached to the One Click strap as desired, in warm and attractive shearling wool.
The Big Bang Alps 45 mm version is powered by the Unico, the famous Hublot calibre HUB1242 manufacture chronograph movement. It can be seen through the transparent sapphire case back, whichlike the bezel, is made from frosted carbon.
The Big Bang One Click Alps 39 mm also features a frosted carbon case. Its bezel, made from the same material is set with 42 diamonds totalling 1.00 carat. The black microblasted ceramic and sapphire case back is engraved with the peak of the Matterhorn. It houses a calibre HUB1710 self-winding movement with a power reserve of 50 hours.
In addition to the special Cuddly Cuff, each Hublot Big Bang Alps comes as standard with two One Click straps with titanium buckles.
