Celebrating 30 years of the brand at Montres Prestige - Jacob & Co.
Jacob & Co. celebrated its 30th anniversary at Montres Prestige in Geneva last week and launched the new Astronomia Meteorite watch.

Jacob Arabo, founder of Jacob & Co. celebrated the 30th anniversary of his brand last week at the Montres Prestige store in Geneva. More than half of the company's history has been devoted to the production of exquisite jewellery pieces, but Jacob Arabo branched out into watchmaking in 2002, launching the Five Timezone watch collection based around five separate quartz movements. Just four years later, the brand made the leap to the incredible complications for which it is now famous, presenting the Quenttin in 2006, the first watch with a 31-day power reserve and a vertical tourbillon.

After opening his first flagship store on 57th Avenue in New York in 2004, Jacob Arabo set up a workshop in Geneva in 2012 that was dedicated solely to the brand's watchmaking activities. Just one year later, the Epic X and Epic 24 collections were presented and, the following year, the saga of the Astronomia commenced. The Astronomia houses a triple-axis, gravitational tourbillon with the sun, earth, tourbillon and time display all rotating continuously around the dial. Earlier this year the Astronomia Sky was presented and, to coincide with the 30th anniversary celebrations, the new Astronomia Meteorite was launched. This new version uses over 35 carats of diamonds, in an unusual triangular cut, to bounce light off the mesmerising movement.
