Things go topsy-turvy with a flurry of announcements ahead of a potentially calmer Baselworld.

Over the past couple of weeks, despite operating in completely different price categories, Richard Mille and TAG Heuer have come into direct competition for visibility. The former replaced the latter as the new partner of McLaren, then announced a deal with Haas F1 a few days later and concluded its latest sponsorship round by replacing Jaeger-LeCoultre as the new partner of Aston Martin. But in spite of this fervent deal-making, the marketing caravan of Jean-Claude Biver continues to set the benchmark, snapping up the role of official timekeeper of the World Touring Car Championship and announcing new football partnerships in the US and China all in the same week. The usual calm before the storm is thus inversed, with all these announcements coming ahead of a Baselworld that some expect to be calmer than usual.

Nor should you forget your chance to win an Ernest Borel watch in our monthly competition.

We are delighted to welcome Fabergé as a new partner brand on WorldTempus. Just before the brand launches its 2016 collection in Basel next week you can learn more about the brand and its current timepiece collection
