TAG Heuer Jean-Claude Biver

Profile of TAG Heuer's CEO.

Jean-Claude Biver is President of the Watch Division of the LVMH group, Chairman of Hublot and also CEO of TAG Heuer. He was born in Luxembourg in 1949, and is now one of the pillars of the Swiss watchmaking establishment. He arrived in Switzerland at the age of ten, and completed his higher education in Lausanne, where he earned a business degree from the University of Lausanne Faculty of Business and Economics. In 1975 he joined Audemars Piguet as an intern, before being promoted to a position in marketing and sales. In 1980 he was made responsible for gold products at Omega, which he left in 1982, the date he and a friend bought the Blancpain brand, which had been dormant since 1961.
There followed a decade with the SMH group, during which time it changed its name to the Swatch Group. In 1992 Jean-Claude Biver sold Blancpain to the group. As a member of the group’s board of directors, his principal role was to develop Omega’s marketing and product lines.
In 2004, after a sabbatical year, Jean-Claude Biver took the reins of Hublot. In January 2014 he was appointed President of the Watch Division of the LVMH group, and in December of that year he became CEO of TAG Heuer.
