Finishing seventh on the 14th of July, in the last race of the 2018-2019 season in New York, was good enough for Jean-Eric Vergne to win the ABB FIA Formula E for the second year in a row. On France's national day, the French racing driver made history by becoming the first driver to defend his world championship title. This season, Jean-Eric Vergne won 3 races out of 13, the highest number amongst the 22 drivers.
