Press release

Endowed with the automatic movement LV171 (Dubois-Dépraz), the automatic version offers the Regatta functions and countdown with visual indication while the quartz version offers a countdown with sound indication.

The two Tambour Regatta watches Automatic and Quartz America's Cup linked aestheticism and performance. The case is made of rubber. The silhouette of the mythical trophy is engraved on the bracelet, on the dial and on the case which evokes the motives for the anti-skid surfaces of deck boats.

"The Tambour watch is a guardian of time. It protects time, both by its solid presence and also its iconic dimension."

THE DESIGN OF A TAMBOUR WATCH

An extremely selective, rigorous choice of materials, the exceptionally precise assembly of components, alongside a refined and carefully prepared casing in an exclusive protective shell: each stage of manufacturing of a Tambour watch is undertaken with unequalled skill and care, with the ultimate aim of bringing the owner of this exceptional watches a unique feeling of pleasure, precision and excellence.

CREATIVITY: A NEVER-ENDING MOVEMENT

The Louis Vuitton watchmaking workshops are continually in search of new functions associated with travel and sailing, the historic worlds of the Maison and its heritage values. They have created several new movements, resulting from the association between Louis Vuitton and the prestigious factories of La Joux-Perret and Dubois Dépraz.

Thus, the LV 122 calibre movement, which is present on the Tambour Orientation watch, tells the user which direction is North and gives their current location. Designed for sailors, the Tambour Regatta black watch is equipped with an automatic chronograph movement which can count down the ten minutes leading up to the start of the race, with a fly-back function which stops and resets the countdown in one movement.

"Our ambition is to develop original functions linked to the Louis Vuitton values."
Hamdi Chatti_Watches and Jewelry Director of Louis Vuitton

EXCLUSIVE SAVOIR-FAIRE: THE ESSENCE OF THE FUTURE OF LOUIS VUITTON WATCHMAKING

The ambition of Louis Vuitton watchmaking was clear with the creation of the first workshop, where all of its watchmaking crafts came together with the aim of eventually designing its very own movement. Present in the workshops since 2006, the first Louis Vuitton watchmaking craftsman has not stopped working in this direction, surrounding himself with the very best materials and skilled experts The recent acquisition of La Fabrique du Temps (see below) is in line with Louis Vuitton's determination to reinforce its unique and exclusive savoir-faire in the watchmaking. The creation of a timepiece movement requires almost two years of development and the Louis Vuitton master watchmaker is the only craftsman capable of developing the new complicated functions, which will allow the brand to register new patents in the near future.

"The development of movements designed by the Louis Vuitton watchmaking workshops represents the essence of our watchmaking future."
Pietro Beccari_Executive Vice President of Louis Vuitton
