The Ulysse Nardin Dual Time is renowned, and deservedly so: it’s a mechanical complication that is incredibly challenging for engineers to achieve, and yet simplifies the lives of all who wear it. It involves a double time zone feature which is both intuitive and easy to use: pushers on the left instantly adjust the hour to a different time zone - forward or backward - while the home time indicator at 9 o'clock continues its cycle.
The slender 37.5 mm diameter case in stainless steel houses the UN-324 calibre. This self-winding movement, entirely designed and manufactured in-house by Ulysse Nardin, makes full use of the Silicium technology - which the Swiss watchmaker pioneered - and which is known to vastly improve the precision and durability of watch components.
The crown selector function represents another leap forward in timekeeping innovation, a constant ideal at Ulysse Nardin. Its nail-friendly function was designed to allow the date and time to be set with a pusher and three positions on the dial, therefore avoiding the traditional pulling out of the crown and preserving a woman’s manicure.
The bezel is set with 60 diamonds, which highlight a midnight blue or a chic grey dial and a matching leather strap, secured with a folding buckle. 15 diamonds are used too in place of hour indexes, as well as in a delicate tracery across the center. The time zone feature is joined on the dial by the legible date display in a double window at 2 o’clock, and a small seconds register at 6 o’clock.
