A new competition, a preview of the Geneva auctions and some in-depth product reviews.

It’s hard to believe that it’s already May and that WorldTempus has given away over 10,000 Swiss francs’ worth of watches in its monthly competitions so far this year. With the start of a new month comes a new competition in which we are offering a model from the Ernest Borel Retro Collection worth 2,595 Swiss francs. All you need to do is answer three simple questions about the brand to be in with a chance of winning.

“Jean-Claude Biver is a genius of the industry who rightly merits a biography”

Paul O'Neil

Over the coming weekend we will see the first watch sales of the year at the major auction houses in Geneva. Following our preview of the Christie’s sale, we will also be taking a closer look at the first sale by the new Phillips watch department and carrying an interview with Aurel Bacs, who heads up this new operation which will also be staging the Only Watch charity auction in Geneva later this year.

Our series of in-depth product focuses by David Chokron started last Friday and continues this week with a look at the Cartier Rotonde Grande Complication model. Keith Strandberg offers his impressions of the latest Seiko Astron GPS watch, which accompanied him on a recent trip across several different time zones, and Michèle Brunner recommends some horological gifts for Mother’s Day.

Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to get all the watch news right in your mail box.
