Autavia Cup - the final four

Autavia Cup - the final four - TAG Heuer
As the journey draws near to an end, here are my final two preferences in the TAG Heuer Autavia Cup.

The voters could scarcely have narrowed it down to a more difficult choice in the final round of the Autavia Cup to decide which Autavia model will be presented at Baselworld next year. To make it even more difficult, the final round is a four-way split where you can choose only one model. Yet it could just have easily been a continuation of the previous rounds, however, since there is little to distinguish between the Reference 2446 Mark 3 and Mark 4 or the Reference 2446C SN and the “fantasy” version of the Reference 2446 Mark 3.

White on black or black on white seems to be the simple question. The preference of the voting public has clearly been for the latter “panda” look so far, which suggests that one of these two models is most likely to be presented at Baselworld next year. Not only will this be a rare occasion to know almost a year in advance which watch a brand will be presenting at the world’s biggest watch fair, but also the first possibility for the voting public on the Internet to bring to life a “fantasy” Autavia model that has been designed especially for the occasion.

With this in mind, my final choice becomes almost academic and the pull of the majority becomes ever greater. Should I go with the flow in the hope that I could soon add the panda look to my collection at an affordable price? Or should I go with my heart? It’s my heart that wins me over in the end and I’m going for the Reference 2446 Mark 4 with the all-lume markers. Maybe my penchant for diver’s watches is showing through but the vintage beige look of the hour markers also has an undoubtable appeal. You have just four days to cast your final vote before the results are revealed next Monday. And for the final touch of suspense, this time you are not shown the share of the public vote for each model.
