In the wake of its selection for the 2019 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève and its highly acclaimed participation in Only Watch, the youthful Trilobe brand continues to shine. Its novel time read-off on three rotating disks and its architectural approach to the dial continues in the highly singular nature of its very own movement. Through further collaboration with the watchmakerdeveloper Jean-François Mojon, who had created the first X-Centric module (enabling the rotation of the three disks sliding on ruby rollers), the caliber designed for Trilobe takes up several aesthetic and technical challenges.
Visually, the construction is as innovative as its resolutely modern surface treatment, with a two-tone plate, galvanic coating, sandblasted surfaces and diamond angles. The use of aluminum to compensate for the weight of the disks and wire EDM for the very complex hours and minutes disks combine to optimize performance. The micro-rotor which seems to be have cut out of a meteorite ensures a clear view of the entire movement. The final surprise, although it will not astonish those already acquainted with Trilobe, is an attractive quality-price ratio which accentuates the “wow” effect.
