Newsletter A svelte physique for the summer

From high-octane racing to the refined luxury of ultra-thin watches.

After a busy weekend that saw your editor-in-chief enjoy a fully immersive experience of the close partnership between Blancpain and Lamborghini on one of the high-octane Race Weekends of the Blancpain GT Series, an air of refinement pervaded our editorial coverage on Worldtempus over the past week. Following reports from the Van Cleef & Arpels school and the completion of Breguet’s multi-year partnership with the Louvre in Paris, David Chokron examined a selection of ultra-thin watches. But with just 0.15 millimetre separating the world’s two thinnest self-winding watches, can you tell the difference? Does it matter? And can brands improve any further on these slender margins? Our Summer Watches series continued with a review of four GMT watches and will change tack over the next few weeks as we turn our attention to ladies watches in different summer hues.
