Newsletter Summer watches

A colourful week of editorial on Worldtempus closed with a couple of significant dates.

The past week ended with two important dates. Firstly, the 21st June signalled the official arrival of summer, so I hope this coincides with good weather for you, whichever hemisphere you are in. Secondly, the end of the working week was the last chance for watch brands to submit their candidates for this year’s Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix (the final deadline is today, 23rd June).

Having already launched our dedicated column on the Grand Prix, we now present one that will be devoted to the summer season, featuring the watches of the summer over three months, sorted into categories that cover all the needs that you may have for your timepiece over this season.

There was a lot of colour in the coverage on Worldtempus last week, from the watches with green dials presented by David Chokron to the all-white H1 Iceberg by HYT and the different-coloured LCD screens offered by Jacob&Co. on their Ghost model. Expect even more colour in our summer watches column.

Over the coming week we will provide more insight into the history of the watchmaking industry from Willy Schweizer and Anita Khatri profiles the changing Indian watch buyer. We also explore the more secretive worlds of bespoke watchmaking and the crafty secret signatures that some watchmakers use.

As part of our focus on the regional watch shows, Worldtempus will be attending the Belles Montres show in Paris. This year sees its 8th edition at the Carrousel du Louvre from 21st until 23rd November. Save the date!
