Alpina Startimer Pilot Quartz GMT
Alpina adds three new pilot watches to its Startimer collection.
Since 1921, Alpina and aviation have rhymed with affordable, trendy pilot watches. Over half a century ago, Alpina was the official supplier for military aviation watches to continental air forces and since then the brand has maintained the heritage it carries in each timepiece. This year, the brand pays homage to its aviation history with the launch of several Startimer timepieces, designed for professionals and aeronautics aficionados alike.
A new partnership
Following the Startimer Pilot Automatic launch at Baselworld, the brand announced the name of its new ambassador: champion air racer, Mike Goulian. The Maison will also be the Official Time Keeper of Team Goulian in the Red Bull Air Race World Championships.
The new model
Besides offering a very attractive price, the Startimer Pilot Quartz GMT answers to the strictest design codes of a pilot watch. Such as its oversized luminous numerals, the highly contrasted day and night colored indicator, or the visible red and white triangle-shaped GMT hand; these are essential characteristics of a true pilot watch offering perfect readability and maximum visibility. The back case features the engraved Alpina Genève logo making it special piece. The GMT function is easily adjusted via the crown. To set it up, simply pull on the crown once to prompt the home time, turn the crown downward and the GMT hand will move accordingly. Turning the crown upward will set the date. Then pull once more on the crown to set up your local time, you will then see the hour and minute hand moving. The comfortable 42mm stainless steel or black PVD-treated stainless steel cases make it the perfect companion for casual occasions. This timepiece offers different colored nylon straps for different moods for different types of pilots.
