It’s unusual that a couple of limited editions should be slightly cheaper than two Nautilo models in the same collection, but in the case of the new Anonimo Nautilo models with NATO straps and a splash of colour this is explained by the use of a ceramic insert on the bezel of the yellow and green models, which bring out the vibrant colours even more for just 200 Swiss francs more than the two limited-edition versions dedicated to two of the brand’s big partnerships.
The red Nautilo model was first seen last year as the partnership with the SFS sailing team was announced. In addition to taking the colours of the team, this model introduced the first NATO-style textile straps into the Anonimo Nautilo collection. The SFS II ocean racing yacht, which was the venue for the launch of the new models, will be competing in regattas around the Mediterranean this summer. This red Nautilo model is limited to 300 pieces.

The blue version is dedicated to the Leopard Racing team, which competes in motorbike racing, touring cars and professional cycling in similar blue livery. The team’s Moto3 rider Joan Mir won the first two races of the 2017 season. This blue series is limited to 97 watches to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Anonimo, which was founded in 1997.
It is the non-limited models in this collection that are new and which offer some bold colours that were perfectly highlighted by the baking sun of the Mediterranean and the reflections of the light swells on the sea as SFS II cruised along at a sedate 9 knots for the launch. The colours on the new green and yellow models are brought to life thanks to ceramic inserts for the bezel and matching satin-finished coloured flanges around the dial in. Under the bright Mediterranean sunshine, the green model was your editor-in-chief’s clear favourite for a splash of summer colour.
Anonimo’s CEO Julien Haenny is strict about respecting the brand’s 20 years of heritage, which is why these new models are robust diver’s models with 200 metre water resistance and a graduated unidirectional rotating bezel as well as a screw-in crown and case back. Inside the stainless-steel and black DLC case beats a Sellita SW 200-1 self-winding mechanical movement that offers a 38-hour power reserve. The two limited-editions are priced at 1,990 euros, while the two new models in yellow and green with ceramic bezels retail for 2,190 euros.
