In 2018, Anonimo served for the fourth time running as official timekeeper for the Leopard Racing Team competing in the Moto3 world championship category, which offers young drivers a platform towards Moto2 and MotoGP. At the end of 2017 in Valencia, newly crowned Moto3 World Champion Joan Mir presented the first Anomino timepiece dedicated to Leopad, the Nautilo Leopard, attired in the turquoise blue that makes the Team’s motorbikes so instantly recognizable on racing tracks, as well as in Leopard black. Since Joan Mir was competing in Moto2 this year, the two new 2018 Leopard Team Moto3 riders – Enea Bastianini and Lorenzo Dalla Porta, both from of Italy – wore the watch throughout season, although they were unable to match Mir’s performance. They respectively finished 4th and 5th in the 2018 Moto3 overall final rankings. While Bastianini will be moving up to the Moto2 category next season, Dalla Porta will continue competing in Moto3 with the Leopard Racing team, wearing the new 2018 Nautilo Leopard firmly strapped to his wrist!
To celebrate a stronger presence in Italy, the home country of Anonimo and of both Team Leopard Racing Moto3 riders, Anonimo chose the international city of Milan to unveil its new timepiece. The event was held on 8 November at Grimoldi retailer, in the presence of Lorenzo Dalla Porta and Enea Bastianini.
Issued in a 97-piece series – a reference to Anonimo’s birth year and coincidentally also that of both Dalla Porta and Bastianini –, the Nautilo Leopard 2019 Limited Edition flaunts the Leopard blue even more boldly than before on the unidirectional bezel, with the same shade also now appearing on the large 20 and 40 numerals. This striking color also adorns the inner bezel ring, the minutes track as well as the counterweight on the sweep-seconds hand shaped like the Anonimo logo. Standing out against the sunburst black dial, the hands and indications coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova® ensure excellent legibility.
A sturdy, high-performance model evoking the Honda bikes driven by the Moto3 Leopard Racing team, this 44.4mm-diameter 316L steel and DLC Nautilo limited edition is also equipped with an extremely precise mechanical ‘engine’: the Swiss Made self-winding SW 200-1 movement. In addition to powering central hours, minutes and seconds, as well as a date display at 6 o’clock, it endows the watch with a 38-hour power reserve.
The black fireproofed fabric strap with blue stitching, along with the Leopard engraving on the caseback, complement the sporting look of this model retailing at CHF 2,190.
