Piccadilly and Regent Princess, green, red and blue - Backes & Strauss
This year, the Piccadilly and Regent Princess ranges are enhanced with three colourful editions called Green Emerald, Red Rose and Blue Velvet.

The Princess collection watches have come to be regarded as being among the signature pieces of the Backes & Strauss range, with their white or rose gold cases set with ideal cut diamonds to match the dials, and bracelets created from a series of hand-crafted links adorned with a further 136 Ideal Cut stones, alone weighing 18.57 carats.

This year's WPHH sees the range enhanced with three colourful editions, known respectively as the Green Emerald, the Red Rose and the Blue Velvet.

Their names are derived from the use of hand-set emeralds, rubies or sapphires which serve as hour markers on the dial of each watch, lending the design a fresh twist while also enhancing legibility. The same precious stones are incorporated in the bracelet settings.

The inspiration for the series initially came from the Blue Velvet suite and the Red Rose drawing room at Carlton House, the palatial London residence of the Prince Regent, gifted to him in 1783 by his father, George III, to mark his coming of age.
