Two Clifton watches are taking part in the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.

Baume & Mercier has submitted two watches to the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève 2013: the Clifton 1830 (Men's category) and the Clifton Complete Calendar (Petite Aiguille category). Both watches have successfully gone through the pre-selections and are taking part in the final competition.

Clifton 1830

The Clifton 1830, powered by a manually wound calibre by the manufacture, is intended as the most authentic re-edition of the historical model that has inspired the entire Clifton collection in the “Golden Fifties”.

Simple and refined, the watch shows curves and straight lines. The 42mm case is made of 18K red-gold. The dial, a domed disc in silvered opaline, with the small seconds counter inset at 6 o'clock, is set with numerals and indices that are individually applied then meticulously riveted from behind.

The Clifton 1830 is fitted with a Manufacture caliber adapted for Baume & Mercier by the La Joux-Perret Manufacture. Visible through the transparent case back, it has a power reserve of 90 hours and superior finishes that meet the standards of a Manufacture caliber: bridges decorated with “Côtes de Genève”, circular-grained bottom plate and the blued-steel screws.

Clifton Complete Calendar

The Clifton Complete Calendar commands attention thanks to its blue, sun satin-finished dial. The case back of the 43 mm case, water-resistant to 5 ATM, has been opened up to allow observing the components of its automatic movement (Dubois Dépraz 9000). With such graphic potency and its essential calendar display, this complication version is mounted upon an alligator strap, which is closed by a triple folding clasp with security push-pieces.
