The graceful opening of the wings in the Khépri à Secret creation is exclusive to the Maison Boucheron, designed as a watchmaking animation module (principle of automatic movement). The feature that distinguishes this system is that it allows the wings to open smoothly (in a few seconds) and seamlessly – like the curtain of a theater.
Light pressure on the head of the little messenger - formed by a blue sapphire cabochon – triggers a cam mechanism that synchronizes the opening of the four wings: the gadroon-sculpted upper wings in mother-of-pearl open and reveal underneath smaller wings in openwork set with diamonds and blue sapphires.
An all-delicate flight achieved through the extraordinary expertise of the Maison’s craftsmen; to the ingenuity of their invention is added the feat of having been able to conceal the 40 components of this so-called mysterious system in a miniature body, without hampering either the functioning of the watch’s movement or the artistic interpretation of this little creature of light.

Frédéric Boucheron used to activate a little box in which there was a small automatic bird, to wish his customers from around the world “bon voyage”. The shop then resounded with a song that the jeweler regarded as a lucky tune.
The Maison Boucheron is now revisiting automated art with a watch that resembles a protective scarab, the fineness of which transports us to magical moments to cherish forever.
