A few months after presenting the Octo Roma Monete in pink gold (ref. 103198) and in platinum (ref. 103209) in Capri, Bulgari unveils at the SIAR in Mexico City a new interpretation in titanium with dark DLC treatment of its Monete secret watch.
The 44 mm-diameter watch is fitted with a very rare medallion depicting Constantius II, the second son of Constantine I. It shows the imperial epithets Pius and Felix (dutiful and happy) on the obverse inscription.
The reverse depicts the emperor, in military attire, standing left and holding the labarum, decorated with a wreath, and the inscription “TRIVMFATOR GENTIVM BARBARARVM” (‘triumfator over the barbarian nations’), that is a gloating celebration of Roman supremacy over its foreign enemies.
The Octo Roma Moneta in titanium is a unique piece. The coins open with the touch of a button to reveal the caliber BVL 268 SK, a mechanical manufacture movement with manual winding and flying tourbillon.
A black alligator leather strap featuring a steel with DLC treatment folding buckle completes the watch.
