Last June in Capri, on the occasion of the Bulgari Brand Event, Bulgari introduced the most expensive high-end timepiece ever made, the Serpenti Misteriosi Romani. This spectacular one of a kind creation comprises a massive number of precious stones — the snakehead is crowned with a 10-carat Sri Lankan sapphire and a total of more than 60 carats of diamonds and 35 carats of sapphires form the snake’s body and scales. With a cost of almost two million euros, the price is just as spectacular.
Bulgari also presented two new high jewellery secret watches, the Serpenti Misteriosi Intrecciati and the Octo Roma Monete. Today, we take a closer look at the Serpenti Misteriosi Intrecciati.
Another style to debut is the Serpenti Misteriosi Intrecciati. Inspired by High Jewellery pieces from the Bulgari archives, this 18kt white gold timepiece features a completely new design that combines Serpenti with beads to create an unexpected and striking effect. Bulgari has used beads in its jewellery creations for decades, enamored of their smoothness and versatility; easy to wear, their handcrafted feel exudes richness and femininity.
The latest Serpenti Misteriosi features a beaded interwoven bracelet that wraps around the wrist. The watch is set in one of two Serpenti snakeheads, which are linked on an axis for an organic sense of movement. The dial is pavé-set with diamonds (~0,28 ct) and the watch is powered by a Bulgari customized quartz movement.
Serpenti Misteriosi Intrecciati comes in two editions. The Rubies version features an interweaving bracelet set with 365 ruby beads (~91,27cts) and round brilliant-cut diamonds. The 18kt white gold snakeheads are set with round brilliant-cut diamonds, 17 marquise-cut diamonds, 3 marquise-cut rubies (~2,65 cts), 1 round brilliant-cut ruby (~0,76 ct), and 4 pear-shaped ruby eyes (~ 2,65 cts).
The interweaving bracelet of the Emeralds and Sapphires model is adorned with 233 emerald beads (~39,39 cts), 178 sapphire beads (~42,41 cts) and round brilliant-cut diamonds. The snakeheads are set with round brilliant-cut diamonds (~9,35 cts), marquise-cut diamonds (~4,90 cts), 3 marquise-cut emeralds (~1,99 ct), 1 round brilliant-cut sapphire (~0,61 ct), 2 pear-shaped emerald eyes (~0,44 ct) and 2 pear-shaped sapphire eyes (~0,64 cts).
