Focus on the Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar

The fact is important in its own right: the Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar is the thinnest perpetual calendar watch ever created. With a case measuring just 5.8mm thick, it is a full 8% slimmer than the previous record holder. The creation of Caliber BVL305 earns Bvlgari its seventh record for thinness. But that’s not all, since in real life, people wear a watch rather than a record, so the Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar naturally offers other assets. First, its modern, angular, pared-back monochrome design. Next one should mention its material – sandblasted titanium – which is extremely unusual for a perpetual calendar. Then there’s the movement, which is self-winding, a feature so very useful yet still too rare for this horological complication. Last but not least among its qualities, the Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar has a dial entirely unlike typical models featuring this function. The retrograde date dominates the watch face, perched above the day and month displays, while a small, likewise retrograde hand indicates the leap year. Behind the number, which is an achievement in itself, Bvlgari has thus managed to accommodate all the attributes of an intelligent and decidedly different watch.
