Cecil Purnell V17 World Time Bi-Axial Tourbillon

The V17 World Time Bi-Axial Tourbillon with a mechanical horizon indicator will officially be unveiled at Baselworld 2015.

In the spirit of Tourbillons, the Bi-Axial precisely compensates for influences due to gravity. Its optimal frequency (21,600 vibrations/hour) is achieved in rapid movement, mesmerizingly visible on the dial.

The World Time is displayed in a spectacular and ingenious way on a half sphere. The hemisphere makes one revolution in 24 hours and allows one to know the time with the indication of terrestrial hours engraved around its perimeter. The realization of the World Map in a half sphere required a perfect mastery of its spatial geometry with several crafts realised. Complementing the World Time is the indication of the horizon, displayed by a Spherical Eccentric rotor.
