Fiery yellow - De Bethune

DB28GS Yellow Submarine.

Already at the time of its release, the DB28GS proved to be out of the ordinary – which is no small feat for De Bethune, a brand well-accustomed to rarity. In addition to the extremely high level of finishing and detail characterizing this lively little brand, the GS was entering the select world of diver’s watches (or at least those water-resistant to 100 meters) with its own special touch in the shape of a rotating sapphire crystal on top of just the conventional rotating bezel. As a bonus, it is equipped with an entirely mechanical on-demand interior lighting system. A small dynamo, managed like a minute repeater, gives it a few seconds of light. The so-called Yellow Submarine version adds a vibrant chromatic touch to these already unique features. The floating lugs securing case to wrist, the movement elements visible on the dial side, along with the hands, the bezel and the caseback: all these components are made of grade 5 yellow titanium. A shade that is obtained exclusively by heat treatment and not by PVD, DLC, CVD or any other color addition process. De Bethune had already mastered bluing metals using this thermal oxidation method and now adds a fiery yellow to its palette.
