This new watch commemorates Tazio Nuvolari's world speed record in 1935.

336 kilometers per hour (almost 208 mph). That’s fast on a track, but it’s especially fast on a highway. It’s doubtful that anyone has gone this fast in recent years on the open road. Or if they did, they lost their licenses for a very long time.
Well, a new watch from Eberhard commemorates when Tazio Nuvolari did just that, set a world speed record in 1935, piloting his Alfa Romeo 16C Bimotore, equipped with two eight cylinder motors, at 336 kph on the Firenze – Mare highway in Italy.
The new timepiece is the “Tazio Nuvolari 336,” a tribute to the driver and his achievement. The watch is a dual time model with extra power reserve, limited to 336 units for the world.

“The Tazio Nuvolari collection is one of Eberhard’s strengths, a line born in 1992 that conveys the story of the greatest Italian racing champion,” explains Mario Peserico, general manager, Eberhard. “The new watch has a very good price positioning and its quality will exceed expectations. So we have three factors – content, pricing, quality – that make this watch a great accomplishment, contributing to enrich a collection that originally was made only of chronographs.”

Tazio Nuvolari

The Man, The Legend
Tazio Nuvolari was an Italian race driver, born in Mantua in Northern Italy, and he is considered by many to be the greatest of all time. Known as “The Flying Mantuan,” Nuvolari won 24 Grand Prix, five Coppa Ciano, two Mille Miglia, two Targa Florio, two Le Mans 24 Hours and many other competitions at the national and international level. In fact, Ferdinand Porsche called Nuvolari "the greatest driver of the past, the present, and the future.”
Eberhard designed the Tazio Nuvolari collection to honor this famous driver and to capture the spirit of adventure of those exciting times, when racers were daredevils who pushed the limits of themselves and their machines for victory. The watches have a vintage feel in thoroughly modern timepieces.

The Watch
The Tazio Nuvolari 336 limited edition is a 45mm stainless steel timepiece featuring a two time zone display, powered by an automatic movement. The second time zone is shown at 12 o’clock, while the power reserve display occupies the six o’clock position. This limited edition features a ceramic bezel and a 42 hour power reserve.

“For Eberhard, the perfect customer is someone who makes a choice, someone who doesn’t buy under the influence of advertising or testimonials but on the basis of a precise selection,” Peserico says. “Our customer is someone who knows exactly what he wants. He may be a collector, or he may be a new client -- in any case he is someone who really wants to stand out from the crowd.”
And wearing the Eberhard Tazio Nuvolari 336 limited edition, with only 336 available in the world, stand out from the crowd he certainly will.
