It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Switzerland’s watchmaking valleys, so WorldTempus brings you its Christmas gift ideas.

It seems like only yesterday that I was complaining that Christmas decorations, gifts and food were already in the shops. But I realised that it was actually in November and the past couple of weeks have gone by in a flurry of activity and all of a sudden, Christmas is just around the corner.

In the run-up to the holidays we offer you more choice than ever on WorldTempus, with the addition of not one but three new partner brands. Arnold & Son offers a decidedly British take on watchmaking that I am, of course, delighted to see on WorldTempus. Favre-Leuba, on the other hand, offers some great tool watches, such as the Bivouac 9000 with its mechanical altimeter and the Harpoon diver’s watch with its innovative and intuitive time display.  Last but not least, Porosus offers a range of leather goods made from the skins of Crocodylus Porosus, the species of crocodile renowned for offering the best quality skins, which the company has been breeding for over 20 years in Malaysia. Instead of the usual leather pouches and cases, how about a funky bright red crocodile leather bow tie this Christmas?

We have selected a wide range of watches to cover all tastes and budgets this Christmas, splitting them into women’s and men’s watches. Michèle Brunner and Cloé Mugny will bring you their selection of women’s watches in the price ranges up to 3,000 Swiss francs, from 3,000 to 10,000 Swiss francs, 10,000-50,000 Swiss francs and over 50,000 Swiss francs. I have done the same for men’s watches. Later this week, Olivier Müller gives his annual horological book review with some more ideas for Christmas gifts.

Don’t forget that we have some great prizes on offer every day in Advent. Check out the competition page to see what you have missed and bookmark it to make sure you don’t miss out on the remaining competitions. All competitions are open until midnight on 24th December, just as Santa Claus starts his annual world tour.
