2021 Watches and Wonders 2021 Issue - GMT Magazine
In this Spring issue offered to WorldTempus readers, H. Moser & Cie. unveils the first new watch that is followed by some thirty other new timepieces

The entire watchmaking sector hopes to be able to count on a better-oiled 2021 mechanism than in 2020, with sufficient power reserve to keep a movement capable of grinding out its marvelous ticking. The new models featured in this edition testify to reassuring, even exceptional vigor in the case of the innovations of Jaeger- LeCoultre and Frédérique Constant, two Manufactures positioned in very different segments. Many brands had postponed their major launches 2020 so as to protect from the public health crisis, in the hope of a buoyant environment this year. Others are demonstrating ongoing dynamic momentum, such as Bvlgari, whose impressive Octo saga is making a significant contribution to the history of contemporary watchmaking. Its CEO Antoine Pin comments on the reasons for his optimism. Nonetheless, no one is expecting a real upturn in watchmaking this year, the commonly shared opinion being that we can expect a return to normal in 2023, after strong acceleration in 2022 when luxury travel and tourism picks up again. The physical version of Watches & Wonders announced for 2022 is focusing hopes in this direction, while this spring’s digital version is more of an exercise in style.

We are presenting a few stellar models from this event, including a “Mega Cool” on the cover, and you will find the full analysis in articles and videos of the Watches & Wonders and LVMH Watch Week digital trade shows in the pages of our partner site WorldTempus, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Moreover, a new generation of executives is taking the helm of leading brands in the industry such as Richard Mille and TAG Heuer, and this is the first time that they are giving interviews in the same magazine. Are you more a Ferrari or Porsche fan? Fortunately, this spring is also accompanied by vibrant touches in the 2021 collections, such as the equally appealing color trilogies of Big Bang Ceramic, Royal Oak Offshore and Skelet-One. At last, a chance to read something that makes you smile!
