A tribute to Bob Marley and Eric Clapton.

Following the launch of the Chronofighter Grand Vintage "Graffiti" models last year, Graham is now unveiling a new "Graffiti" watch featuring a laser-engraved sapphire crystal. After the "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" watch, taken from a song by The Clash, here is the "I Shot the Sheriff" piece.  The timepiece pays tribute to the cult song, released in 1973, by the Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter Bob Marley. The song was popularized in 1974, by the English rock guitarist, singer and songwriter Eric Clapton.

The Chronofighter Grand Vintage Ltd "I Shot the Sheriff" comes in an imposing 47mm diameter steel case featuring the Chronofighter's unmissable chronograph start-stop lever. The finely vertical-brushed black dial has Arabic numerals coated with white SuperLuminova. The words "I Shot the Sheriff" are laser-engraved on the domed sapphire crystal, accompanied by a sheriff's star, also laser-engraved and coated with 4N gold, and by the number of this limited series of 25 pieces, at 6 o'clock. The G1747 self-winding chronograph calibre, with a 48-hour power reserve, is revealed through the sapphire crystal case back. The watch is worn on a black rubber mesh pattern strap, secured with a pin buckle.

"In 1974, I was 16 and Graham was still a sleeping beauty", remembers Eric Loth, founder and principal partner of Graham. "The Swiss watch industry was hardly challenged by cheaper and accurate Quartz watches made in Japan. In this old days, Eric Clapton interpreted “I shot the Sheriff” in his album 461 Ocean Road, making an iconic Rock interpretation of Bob Marley’s Reggae creation. The song has multiple layers and we do not know even today its original intent. But its destiny is very interesting. It marked all young aficionados by exposing the merge of English and Jamaican music. People united under the same melody of liberation, creativity and the importance of sharing cultures. Thank you Bob and Eric, you made us a new world of music!"
