New sizes and new straps mark the 2015 models that the brand presented last month at Baselworld

As one of the fashion brand’s most recognizable designs, it is only natural that the horsebit motif should feature prominently in the Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry collection. For 2015 the Horsebit line is extended with a total of six new models, four with equestrian toned leather straps and two with a steel bracelet.

Following the trend for smaller ladies’ watches, Gucci introduces a new, smaller 30mm case size into the collection, which is available on three new models. Each with an elegant white lacquered dial with Roman numerals at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock and slender baton hour markers, they differ in their bracelets, which come in camel calfskin with contrasting beige stitching, red calfskin or as a stainless-steel link bracelet with a foldover clasp. All are equipped with Swiss quartz movements, are water resistant to 50 metres and retail from €500. A brown and brick-red calfskin strap is also available on new models with the slightly larger 34mm case size in the same stainless-steel case design for €600.

For men, two new models bring the trendy NATO-style bracelet to the Gucci watch collection, naturally featuring the brand’s signature green-red-green colour flashes. On the clean and understated lines of the G-Timeless Slim, in its universally appealing 40mm case diameter, the diamante pattern on the dial marries well with the texture of the fabric strap, which has a subtle interpretation of the Gucci stripes at its centre. Available with a black or white dial and matching black and white NATO straps, the G-Timeless Slim in quartz retails for €770.

The Gucci Dive collection launched earlier this year also gets the NATO treatment, with a bolder strap in green-red-green to complement the black dial and stainless-steel case. With a larger 45mm case, this is a true diver’s watch that is water resistant to 200 metres and features a uni-directional rotating bezel for safely timing dives. As the most expensive of Gucci’s quartz-driven new watches for 2015, the Gucci Dive model retails for €770, still well under the 1,000 euro mark.

Expect these models in stores from this summer, with new Gucci Diamantissima models slated for later in the year, not forgetting the brand’s eagerly-anticipated smart watch collaboration with will.i.am.
