A marriage of tradition and modernity - H. Moser & Cie.
Inspired by a Moser pocket watch dating back to the 19th century, the visually stunning Perpetual Calendar Heritage Limited Edition exudes a sense of history.

For its first appearance at the SIHH, Swiss brand H. Moser & Cie chose to showcase its newest, most elegant, creative and ingenious watches. Among the successes of the new year is the now iconic Perpetual Calendar Heritage Limited Edition, a timepiece whose nostalgic design harks back to centuries past.

Inspired by a late 19th century Moser pocket watch in the collections of H. Moser & Cie, the new timepiece borrows from the aesthetic codes of a bygone age. The double hunter case in striking blue engraved enamel with diamond detailing has been enlarged and fitted with slim lugs in order to remain as faithful as possible to the original design. The original watch was discovered by Edouard Meylan, H. Moser & Cie’s CEO. “I found this pocket watch in Russia two years ago, and it hasn’t yet been serviced. Not only is it gorgeous, it keeps excellent time and it’s in perfect condition.”

The updated version, which has a diameter of 46 mm, is a concrete embodiment of the brand’s history.  Combining tradition and modernity, the Perpetual Calendar Heritage features grand feu enamelling and diamonds, like the original, as well as a large date at 3 o’clock, power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock and a central hand to indicate the month on the twelve hour indices. Like its 19th century forebear, the watch also has an off-centre seconds dial with stop seconds at 6 o’clock.  The blued swallowtail hands are also true to the original.

The manually-wound manufacture calibre HMC 341 provides a power reserve of more than seven days, thanks to its twin barrels. The movement, made out of solid 18K gold, also has two diamond palette jewels. The balance operates at a frequency of 18,000 vph.

The back and front covers and the case band are hand-engraved and guilloché, and the front cover is set with diamonds. Fitted with a hand-stitched burgundy crocodile strap, this red gold watch with white enamel dial, set with 28 diamonds, is priced at CHF 250,000.

This reinterpretation of a historic design encapsulates the history of H. Moser & Cie: tradition, modernity and timeless beauty.

A truly exceptional piece by virtue of its historical inspiration as well as its manufacture, which took two years, the watch is a unique creation. Ten further pieces, which have already been sold, will nevertheless be designed and customised to their buyers’ specifications.
