in 2016, Hamilton is introducing the new chapter in the story of its 2013 Jazzmaster Face 2 Face, Here, as in the spectacularly successful original Face 2 Face, and reminiscent of the brand’s strong presence in the world of movies where dual identity is a key ingredient, avant-garde and classical once again embrace each other in a watch with two distinct personalities, guaranteed never to come face to face.

The Hamilton Jazzmaster Series is well-known for containing outstanding variations on a theme, combining innovation, modernity and classical elegance that make it irresistible to watch lovers. Issued in a 1’999-piece limited edition, the Jazzmaster Face 2 Face II is no exception to this golden rule. Here, as in the spectacularly successful original Face 2 Face, and reminiscent of the brand’s strong presence in the world of movies where dual identity is a key ingredient, avant-garde and classical once again embrace each other in a watch with two distinct personalities, guaranteed never to come face to face.

In this all-new interpretation launched at Baselworld 2016, Hamilton’s watchmaking and engineering skills come to the fore, in a model that is water-resistant to 50 meters. Like its predecessor, the Face 2 Face II dares to be different in grand style. It does so through twin faces framed by a slightly elongated, rotating oval case measuring 53 mm by 44: one reveals multi-level dials in luminous, silvery grey with a partially transparent smoky disc and a skeleton-worked casing ring, making a contrast with the technical, anthracite movement highlighted on its alter ego.

The brand new H-41 automatic chronograph caliber is given a unique twist in the Jazzmaster Face 2 Face II. Endowed with a 60-hour power reserve, it drives dauphine-shaped hours and minutes hands and a passing-through chronograph seconds. The latter moves above the skeletonized oscillating weight, a highly unconventional element in the watch industry. Even more remarkable, the hand turns anti-clockwise when activated on the second dial, a unique and entertaining feature reflecting the American spirit of Hamilton watches.

While the front displays 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph counters as well as a day-date window at 3 o’clock, the back features three fascinating scales. The pulsometer, directly printed on the back of the crystal, enables the more fitness-minded to keep track of their own or someone else’s pulse. The tachymeter provides an accurate mechanical measurement of speed, while the telemeter can be used to calculate distances to a remote event, such as a lightning bolt.

In a final color-accenting touch reminiscent of its distinguished predecessor, the Jazzmaster Face 2 Face II is teamed with a black leather strap featuring turquoise, double stitching, matching the shade of the blue chronograph seconds hand.
