Designed in 1991 by Henri d’Origny, the original, graphic Cape Cod challenges existing aesthetic codes. The watch likes to play with the «Anchor Chain», of which the two half links form its case. This motif, created by Robert Dumas in 1938, is now highlighted by Hermès’ leather craftsmanship. The Cape Cod Chaîne d'Ancre watch features a double-tour strap whose second loop is shaped to reveal the anchor chain link pattern in the leather.

To achieve this effect, the artisan assembles four different layers of leather, before meticulously cutting them and stitching them with a tool specially adjusted to follow the curves of the bracelet. This double tour strap, originally designed by Martin Margiela in 1998, is available in four colours -  Barenia black, deep blue, amber and extreme pink - and is secured by a stainless steel pin buckle.

The Cape Cod Chaîne d'Ancre comes in a 316L stainless steel case and is available in two sizes - Grand Modèle (29 x 29 mm) and Petit Modèle (23 x 23 mm). It is topped by an anti-glare sapphire crystal and reveals an opaline silvered dial with silver-powdered transferred Arabic numerals in dark-grey frame, and rhodium-plated hands. A Swiss Made quartz movement powers the hours and minutes.
