A highly contemporary Reverso Classic

A highly contemporary Reverso Classic - Jaeger-LeCoultre
Thanks to the Atelier Reverso, the Reverso Classic Duoface Small Second is venturing into dials with unexpectedly modern motifs, such as camouflage and carbon fibre.

This year, Jaeger-LeCoultre demonstrates once again that a watch as iconic as the Reverso Classic can successfully carry off a highly contemporary look. The Duoface Small Second retains its Art Deco styling, characterised by an understated aesthetic, geometric lines and an elegant dial with a classic miniature minutes track, Arabic numerals and baton hands. The steel case, available in large (47 x 28.3 mm) and medium (42.9 x 25.5 mm) sizes, water-resistant to 30 metres, offers no surprises either.

The novelty lies in the six new men’s dials, three lacquered and three in stone, available in both sizes. The green marble dial with a military camouflage design is probably the most daring, while the model featuring a carbon fibre motif brings a contemporary high-tech touch. The two other lacquered dials are in bright red and electric blue, while the stone selection features tiger’s-eye in shades ranging from burgundy to amber, as well as grey meteorite.

Une Reverso Classic très contemporaine

These dials are offered by the Atelier Reverso, which last year began giving owners of Reverso Classic Duoface, Duoface Small Second and Duetto models the opportunity to select their own dial for the back of their watches, and customise it according to their own taste and personal style. Interchangeable bracelets and buckles can also be chosen from a wide range of colours and materials (satin, calfskin, alligator and ostrich).

The front dial of the new Reverso Classic Duoface Small Second shows hours and minutes, along with small seconds on a silvered guilloché subdial with vertical brushing, while the back features a second time zone on a satin-brushed black dial with clous de Paris hobnail detailing. The second time zone is supplemented with a day/night indicator in the form of a highly readable small register at 6 o’clock. The clock is driven by the manually wound Jaeger-LeCoultre 854A movement, made up of 160 components. It provides a power reserve of 42 hours and beats at 21,600 vph.
