Face Off - Jaeger-LeCoultre
Focus on the Reverso Tribute Nonantième

Never before has a Reverso embodied the idea of a dual appearance of time. The Reverso Tribute Nonantième – created to mark for the 90th anniversary of the most distinctive of all Jaeger-LeCoultre watches – introduces Caliber 826, which is of both the dragging and jumping varieties. Contrary to what one might think, it is not a Duoface – meaning a Reverso with two different time zones depending on which side is showing. The Nonantième is all about the watch face, since never before have the displays differed so greatly from one side to the other. The first one is quite classic, with a sunburst pattern and long beveled hour-markers. With this model, the Reverso is reconnecting with the large date, which it had abandoned since the 2000s. The second face is where the novelty lies. A disk on the Reverso caseback indicates the hours, which are semi-jumping, meaning that they move from one digit to the next in the space of five minutes. The minutes and the day/night appear on concentric disks and this striking new centrally located complementary indication is surrounded by a small blue-lacquered and engraved medallion
