The Master Ultra Thin collection welcomes a new moonphase model featuring a wonderful hand-guilloché blue enamel dial.

Appreciated for its round shape and pure lines, the Master Ultra Thin collection welcomes a new model: the Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel. This new model highlights the arts of guillochage and enameling, two of the Rare Handcrafts (“Métiers Rares®”) which have been kept alive for generations at the Manufacture in the Vallée de Joux. Reinstated at the Manufacture in 1996 and executed completely by hand by a few artisans trained at the Manufacture, enameling is an age-old skill which requires concentration and patience. Furthermore, performing the guillochage work and the application of the translucent blue enamel layer requires meticulous attention.

Jaeger-LeCoultre remains one of the few Manufactures offering gem-setting, engraving, guillochage and enameling at its workshops, artistic techniques that require delicate and subtle work, typically done by hand and with the assistance of machines that are more often than not over a hundred years old.

Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel

In 2018, technical and artistic precision takes on a new dimension and the Art of Precision stands out as the signature of Jaeger-LeCoultre. In addition to the new hand-guilloché midnight blue enamel dial, this timepiece also features a new polished moon, a new engraved counter and new hour-markers. Its extremely thin case in white gold (10.04 mm) houses the Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 925, an automatic mechanical movement with a 70-hour power reserve.

Confering an elegant and assertive look on the watch, the deep blue colour of the dial brings to light the geometric motifs and the relief effect characteristic of guillochage. The Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel features a new moon phase setting, which has been redesigned with painstaking attention to detail. When the moon is full, its perfectly round and polished white disk comes to rest on a stellar background.

In addition to the unmistakable presence of the polished moon phase, this limited edition of 100 pieces revisits the standards of the Master Ultra Thin, a line that has been a watchmaking classic for over 20 years. Connoisseurs are sure to notice the new design of the hour-markers, which are longer and split into two at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. In an aperture at 6 o’clock, the counter that houses the polished moon phase has been engraved, a way of bringing out the numerals depicting the date.
