The figure eight, Jaquet Droz's lucky number and a symbol of balance and perfection, has been regarded as the ultimate touchstone by the watchmaker from La Chaux-de-Fonds since the Age of Enlightenment.
While the Lady 8's general architecture remains true to its original design - an uncluttered dial crowned with a round pearl or precious stone - with the two new ceramic versions in black and white ceramic, the Lady 8 became casual and chic. The revolving ball is also made of ceramic to respect the signature of the dial while the top of the 8 is paved with 48 diamonds for 0.53 carats.
The stainless steel case houses the self-winding Jaquet Droz 1153 movement, with double barrel and 68h of power-reserve. The oscillating weight is made of 22-carat white gold.
The watch is worn on an integral rolled-edge hand-made alligator leather strap, matching the colour of the dial.
